| Jun. 19th, 2009 @ 07:45 am Tempeh round one | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| I've been talking about making homemade Tempeh for over a year now, and was finally able to try the other day. Wow.. so that didn't work so well. I'm thinking that maybe I didn't use enough starter. Also I need to find a different less labor intensive way of deskinning the soybeans. A few cups took me over an hour to remove the skins. The intire process makes me really appreciate the modern conveniences of mass produced food (at least some of it). To consule my failure I went and purchased a 2.79 package of Tempeh from my local Natural foods store. I love me some moldly soybeans. Hopefully Round two will prove a better success. | ||

I finally got to attend the free yoga class that is offered every Friday Night in the town that I live in. I've been interested in learning a few basic stretches of somesort of routine, but books and video really aren't my way to learn. Last nights class was way more informative then the 3 years of me trying to figure out how to do it by myself. I wish that I would have taken a class sooner. | ||

This was in the conformation email that I got about my order from CD Baby.I wish all companies wrote things like this. Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy. We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Sunday, November 30th. I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sigh... -- CD Baby the little store with the best new independent music OH yeah This is the Cd I bought. http://cdbaby.com/cd/hftriffraff2 The girl singing (and play various instruments) was a friend of mine when I was traveling. We used to all play music together for tips in a really really large group. | ||

| Nov. 10th, 2008 @ 07:22 am Trailer Trash? | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| I tell Vanessa that we're thinking about buying a double wide, she laughs and says, "you know your white trash at heart". I tell Grayson that I think that it probably just the same if not better then buying the house across the street, which is three times more expensive and has 700 less square feet. He laughs at me and says something along the lines of this is where we are in our lives that we truly believe that they are the same. We're buying a double wide. It's a manufactured home from the late 70s. It never actually had it's own set of wheels and sits on a foundation, but In it's heart of hearts it's still a trailer. The decision to buy this place is based on the fact that we live 4 hours from Grayson work and place that we want to buy land and build currently. The commute itself takes a toll on Grayson and Finn and I don't get to see him three or four days a week. It's like I'm a Truckers wife, but without the benefits or the Income. The place we're buying sits on a secluded acre in a Gated community. It's really pretty hilarious to me. We will live in the same community as people with big houses and little yards and way to much money. This community is surrounded by Table Rock Lake, it has it's own golf course, two swimming pools, boat storage, and a bunch of other funny things. They also have there own water, sewage, and fire department. The water part is pretty important in Arkansas, because drilling a well can cost anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 depending on your location and elevation. We are eventually going to have to put in a well or catch box, just not right now, and not at this place. I'm actually looking forward to this move. | ||
| Nov. 2nd, 2008 @ 06:55 am Tricker Blah Treat | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| There is something terribly wrong with the kids around here. Yes, granted it was raining outside and we don't have a porch light, but these kids were walking by at 4:30 in the afternoon, all dressed up, no need for a porch light in the daytime. NOT ONE Trickertreater. I guess they didn't realize that I had a bowl filled with tooth rotting candy ready for them, if they would just knock on the door and ask. As a kid we banged on every single door that has even one light on in the house. Forget about the porch light rule, if they decided to be home on Halloween, we were sure as hell going to get some candy from them. I don't know, maybe southerns have different indicators as to which doors they are allowed to knock on to get candy, or maybe I'm the local neighborhood witch, that lives in the scary house that they are to afraid to come to. Anyway, now I've got a bunch of Candy. | ||

| We're supposed to go and look at a piece of property next week. 9 acres next to a nice hippie couple. It's right out side of Eureka for a more then reasonable price. I've already been day dreaming about what we could do with it. I think that I'm getting a bit anxious to get out of Dodge. | ||

| Dear Bicycle, I miss you, and the street on which you once carried me thru. It's been so long since we've seen each other. I have a new home now, with a lot of hills on which we could ride together. You and me on the windy roads, pissing off the vehicles that don't understand bicycle rights. I could give you an extra seat and we could take Finn along with us. It will be just like old times, maybe even better. Won't you please come for a visit. Yours truly, Me | ||

| We drank with the neighbors last night, never really a good idea. They aren't very happy and of course the alcohol doesn't make them any better. I think we spent half the night trying to play therapist and the other half trying to change the subject. It would be nice if I could just remember to not try to help people with there problems. So of course I a bit hung over. That's were the coffee comes in. Holy crap do I love coffee. This mornings cup is especially helpful. I feel like the fog has been lifted, well a little anyway.![]() | ||

| I must have gotten to much sleep last night. My dreams are still really vivid in my mind. Lots of people from the past. Josh, Pigpen, Chad, Ann Arbor, various travelers and trouble makers from the last few years. PreZombites (if that makes sense. I had a motorcycle again. Everyone got along. Finn was present too, although he had a babysitter. | ||

| This must be from a speech I had to give in high school. Thought it was kind of funny. Not like haha funny, or even throat cancer funny, but funny. In other words, anarchism is an expression of the struggle against oppression and exploitation, a generalization of working people's experiences and analysis of what is wrong with the current system and an expression of out hopes and dreams for a better future. | ||

| This was filmed and posted by Jon (the preacherman). August 18th, 2007...Big Clifty Campground, Carroll County, Arkansas After hours of drizzling rain, setting up the wedding area, and Huey fixing Grayson's Volvo, the sun came out to bless the Wedding. This is the first release of the ceremony...volume levels are erratic...turn up the actual ceremony, but be prepared for an outburst of applause from the attendees, and occasional barking by someone's loud mouth dog. Also notice that when asked if there was anyone who objected to the union, a baby started crying! I will be working on more video, especially the great Bluegrass Jams. Stay tuned for more!! | ||
